Gleanings for the Hungry is a ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) headquartered in Dinuba, California. Our team is committing to a week-long, service-oriented missions trip at Gleanings. Village Church’s team will be joining Emmanuel Church Burbank and other groups as part of the volunteer work crew for processing dried fruit and dehydrated soup mix for global hunger relief. The daily schedule includes 8 hours of difficult and tedious manual labor. Gleanings staff, including both adults and college-aged interns, will give us direction and assign task during work hours. The Gleanings trip requires hard work and focus, but it also demands spiritual maturity and focus during group meetings, team activities and free time. Gleanings is a very fun and rewarding experience, but it is first and foremost a service missions trip for the benefit of hungry people.

High school and college students must fill out the "Student Application"
Only college graduates and older may fill out the "Adult Application"
JOINING THE TEAM
STEP 1 - APPLY: Click on the appropriate link below and fill out the online application. Once you have completed that form, it will be emailed to Andy Rotunno. We will begin reviewing your application information.
PERSONAL REFERENCE: (Students Only) If you are a student, you must get a personal reference completed in order to be considered for this team. While we review your application, send a link for this page to an adult who can give you an honest personal reference (non-family member, non-peer). They will follow the link to this page, click on the “Student’s Personal Reference” link, and fill out a reference on your behalf. This must be done quickly as spots are limited.
STEP 2 - PAY: Make your payment of $175/person to Village Church Burbank by Sunday, June 19th. If your payment is not in by this time, your spot may be offered to another applicant. Put your payment in a sealed envelope marked “Gleanings 2011 Payment” and your name. You may turn in your payment at the church office, in the worship service offering bags, by hand to Andy Rotunno or church staff, or you can mail it to Village Church, 3216 W. Victory Blvd. Burbank, CA 91505.
STEP 3 - MEET: We will meet a couple of times as a team before we depart. The target dates for our team meetings are Sunday, June 12th, 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and Wednesday, June 22nd, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Details about team meetings will be sent to all team members. Please notify Andy Rotunno as soon as possible if you are not able to commit to being at those meetings.
STEP 4 - GO: We will depart for Gleanings for the Hungry on Sunday, June 26th at 2:00 PM and return on Saturday, July 2nd around 4:00 PM.
